NHN PlayArt Corp. (Head Office: Minato City, Tokyo; President: Masaki Kato; hereinafter referred to as “NHN PlayArt”) has been established as a new company inheriting the smartphone business of the former NHN PlayArt Corp., and has started its business on October 1 (Thursday), 2015. This was announced by the former NHN PlayArt Corp. on August 21, 2015 in its release entitled “Announcement on company split plan”*.
To respond to the market environment that changes daily due to technological progress and lifestyle diversification, the new NHN PlayArt aims to improve business development speed and further maximize business growth and results by accelerating decision-making.
High-quality games are developed and sustainable growth is maintained in the smartphone game business that has been inherited, as indicated by the performance of LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum, a casual puzzle game for smartphones developed by NHN PlayArt that has been downloaded 45 million times worldwide.
NHN PlayArt will continue offering services that are beloved by many customers through its development and provision of great games, and also by taking on challenges in new fields. In this way, it will create entertainment that constantly enables the sharing of fun and surprises.

The “NHN PlayArt Corp.” company name was created in 2013 when the former NHN PlayArt was established. It will be continually used for the newly established company, created to inherit the smartphone game business, in light of the history of focusing on smartphone games.
※The former NHN PlayArt Corp will be renamed to “NHN comico Corp.” and switched to a business holding company as of October 1, 2015 as stated in “Announcement on company split plan” (August 21, 2015). The smartphone game business will be inherited by the newly established split company NHN PlayArt. The online PC game business will be inherited by PlayArt Fukuoka Corp. after the absorption-type split, and it will be renamed to “NHN hangame Corp.
