Definition of Customer Harassment
Based on the manual for businesses on measures against customer harassment published by Japan’s Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare, we define customer harassment as follows.
Conduct constituting customer harassment includes:
- Unreasonable demands that tie up employees’ time or require them to remain at a particular location
- Verbal abuse or intimidation
- Threats
- Statements or conduct that undermine a person’s dignity
- Repeated complaints about the same matter
- Defamation or abusive statements on social media or elsewhere on the internet
- Conduct or demands that are unacceptable under generally accepted social standards
If any of the above conduct occurs, we will strive to reach a reasonable resolution. However, we may decline to enter into or discontinue a business relationship. Depending on the circumstances, we may also contact or report the matter to the police, legal counsel, or parties associated with the person responsible for the conduct (such as their organization’s management or social media platform operators), or seek their cooperation in addressing the matter.

Our Efforts to Address Harassment
To help ensure that we neither subject others to harassment nor experience it ourselves, we are establishing the following support systems and will remain mindful of harassment prevention in our everyday conduct:
- Establishing consultation channels for various forms of harassment
- Working with lawyers and certified social insurance and labor consultants
- Establishing support systems for employees experiencing mental health difficulties
- Working with occupational physicians
- Regularly providing education and training on various forms of harassment
- Regularly conducting employee satisfaction surveys and using the results to drive ongoing improvements and corrective action
-
We will continue to value connections between people and build relationships of trust with our customers and business partners, while working with other NHN Group companies to create valuable businesses and contribute to a prosperous society.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
