(Head Office: Chuo, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Takashi Araki; below, “DWANGO”) are pleased to announce the launch of their joint iOS/Android game project “#Compass: Combat Providence Analysis System” today, December 17, 2016 (Sat).

 

For this project, NHN PlayArt is handling the development and operation of the game system, while DWANGO is providing IP from creators active on its niconico video service and incorporating the niconico smartphone dev kit*1. Everything from game planning and development to design, music production, and game commentary is performed while drawing on the strengths of both companies.

 

“#Compass*2: Combat Providence Analysis System” is a real-time fighting game in which players form 3-player teams with their friends for 3-minute battles, competing with teams of other players to capture bases placed on the stage. By collecting skill cards, players can prepare for competition by creating the strongest decks with a variety of combination-based strategies. It represents a completely new genre of fighting game that packs elements of action games, strategy games, and card games into 3-minute battles.

 

250,000 pre-registrations have been reached for the game’s giveaway campaign! Spectacular rewards will be offered to those who have pre-registered: an 8-card loot box when the number of registrations reaches 50,000, then a hero loot box at 100,000, a 12-card loot box at 200,000, and 1 week of Prime membership at 250,000.

The niconico smartphone dev kit is an SDK for smartphone apps provided by DWANGO. Anyone can easily stream game commentaries on niconico Live without a computer or any special equipment.

“#Compass,” which stands for “COMbat Providence Analysis System,” is a game set in a fictional social media world where players communicate with each other through battles. With functions similar to a real-life social networking site, it provides a venue not only for battles, but also for players to discuss game strategies and exchange information about tournament events.
