NHN PlayArt Corp. (Head Office: Minato, Tokyo; Representative Director and President: Ujin Chung; below, “NHN PlayArt”) is pleased to announce its participation “Oasys” project (below, “Oasys”), a blockchain optimized for gaming, as an initial validator*.
*A validator is a node (computer terminal) or its operator that is connected to the blockchain network and verifies the integrity of transactions on the chain.
Statement from Oasys PTE. LTD. Director Daiki Moriyama
We are very honored to collaborate with NHN PlayArt, a company with a proven track record of developing numerous blockbuster smartphone games such as “LINE: Disney Tsum Tsum.”
Oasys is aiming for the mass adoption of blockchain games, and we believe that Japanese content can be a very powerful asset for this purpose.
We look forward to working with NHN PlayArt, which has a vision of creating a successful entertainment business in Japan and bringing it to the world, to explore new forms of entertainment in the form of blockchain and games.
Based on the concept of a “Blockchain for Games,” Oasys is a blockchain project optimized for gaming. Twenty-one companies, including Web3 companies and major game companies such as Bandai Namco Research Inc., are serving as initial validators (operators) for the chain, which uses the environmentally friendly Proof of Stake (PoS) method for its consensus algorithm. The proprietary Oasys architecture provides a comfortable gameplay environment by eliminating transaction fees and accelerating transaction processing for blockchain game users.
